Victoria M. Trumbower, CPA, CFP®
Managing Member
Victoria offers clients a unique combination of technical expertise and practical insight. She can identify and communicate important factors related to a complex situation and help people evaluate and optimize their personal financial opportunities. Victoria was a pioneer in the development of comprehensive, fee-based financial planning services in the public accounting profession. She has developed an approach that effectively guides clients through the maze of alternatives toward successful achievement of their goals.
In 1981, Victoria began to specialize in personal financial planning by expanding her role as a closely-held business advisor to include the financial concerns of shareholders and their families. She practiced in the “Big Six” for ten years prior to forming Trumbower Financial Advisors, LLC
She now serves entrepreneurs,executives and retirees of large corporations, as well as professionals and their families. Victoria has assisted companies and non-profit organizations with the development and evaluation of compensation, retirement, relocation and downsizing programs. She has established a reputation for excellence and creativity in the areas of individual and fiduciary income taxation and wealth transfer tax planning.
Victoria earned an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in International Management and a Master of Science in Finance from The American University. She is a CPA/PFS and CFP® certificant. Victoria is a member of the Past President’s Advisory Council of the Financial Planning Association’s National Capital Area Chapter.
Christina L. Bresnan, CFA®
Manager – Investment Advisory Services
Christina has more than twenty-five years of experience in the financial services industry. She entered the profession as an operations manager for an advisory firm and advanced into the role of senior analyst. Chrisy’s strong academic credentials and overall professionalism quickly propelled her into a leadership position within our Firm. She manages all aspects of the investment advisory service line, supervises operations, overseas research efforts and associate portfolio managers. Chrisy and her team monitor economic and market trends while rigorously challenging new and existing investment opportunities. She is a respected source of technical guidance and managerial support. Chrisy also works directly with clients to develop investment policies, asset allocation targets and implementation programs.
Chrisy earned a degree in Economics with a concentration in Finance from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 1994. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charterholder, widely regarded as the preeminent designation in the investment industry. She was a contributing editor to The Tools & Techniques of Investment Planning, a reference book for investment professionals. Additionally, she earned the Certified Fund Specialist designation from the Institute of Business and Finance.
Chrisy is a member of the CFA Institute and its local chapter, the CFA Society of Washington, DC. CFA Institute is a professional organization dedicated to providing the highest ethical standards and professional excellence in the global investment community.
Michael R. Perhac, CFP®
Senior Financial Planning Associate
Mike has over ten years of experience in personal financial planning. In addition to preparing and presenting personal financial plans, Mike continuously surveys academic research in the areas of interest to clients - such as investment portfolio allocation and implementation strategies, approaches to retirement benefit distribution, insurance needs and products. Mike's focus on scholastic studies reflects his background. Prior to becoming a financial services professional, Mike was a Ph.D. candidate in Government and Politics and a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Maryland College Park. This experience sharpened the analytical and communication skills that are essential to the delivery of outstanding service to our clients.
Mike received a Master's degree in Government and Politics from University of Maryland College Park and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Richard Stockton College. He is a CFP® certificant and a member of the Financial Planning Association.
Robert J. Speece, CPA, CFP®
Senior Associate and Portfolio Manager
Robert comes back to the firm with over 7 years of tax compliance and financial planning expertise. Robert began his career as an internal accountant for a privately held company before transiting to public accounting. He worked for a number of years in PricewaterhouseCoopers Tax and Advisory practices focusing on complex issues facing executives, private equity and law firm partners, business owners, and family offices. Robert also served as a management consultant to business clients. His diverse accounting and financial management experiences offer valuable perspective and we appreciate his commitment to technical excellence. Robert earned a bachelor’s degree in Business from East Carolina University. He is a CPA, a CFP® certificant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
Brad Neumann, CFA®
Senior Portfolio Manager
Brad helps to develop and implement investment policies for clients. He formerly directed the Firm’s investment research efforts and is an important member of our security selection committee. Brad came to the Firm after seven years as an independent advisor for a national broker dealer enabling accountants to deliver investment services. His experience in designing portfolios and selecting securities in accordance with customized objectives blends very well with our philosophy and approach. Brad entered the profession as a clerk to a team of traders on the Chicago Board Options Exchange.
Brad graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Economics. He has earned the highly respected Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation. He is a member of the CFA Institute and served as a Director and Treasurer of the CFA Society of Washington, D.C. from 2012 to 2017

Heath Brewer, CFP®
Senior Portfolio Manager
Heath brings his unique perspective and 18 years of financial service experience to TFA. Prior to joining the firm he served as VP of Client Services with one of the worlds largest market makers, specializing in equities and options. His knowledge and expertise in back office operations, regulatory compliance, financial markets and trade execution serve as a valuable resource. Heath is a tremendous asset to our investment advisory practice, providing a wide array of support to our research department and portfolio management. He also participates in the development and implementation of investment policies and is a participating member of the firm's investment committee. Heath earned his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from Grove City College in Pennsylvania. He is a CFP® certificant and member of the Financial Planning Association.
Thomas O. Jeppesen, CFA®
Director of Research
Thomas has more than twenty years of experience in the Financial Services Industry. After a brief law career in his native Denmark, Thomas became a consultant at Cambridge Associates where he served institutional investors and ultimately advanced to the role of Managing Director. After 12 years advising other organizations, Thomas became Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Novant Health where he helped manage the hospital’s $3.5 billion portfolio. He left Novant for a brief stint as Chief Financial Officer for a government consulting firm but remained involved in the profession as a member of a non-profit Board. Thomas joined TFA in 2023 as Director of Research where his diverse background and extensive experience choosing and evaluating investment managers and strategies further enhances our capabilities.
Thomas holds master-level law degrees from the University of Copenhagen and Université de Paris II as well as a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University.
He has earned the highly respected Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Washington D.C. Thomas is also an Investment Committee Board member for Randolph-Macon College.
Karen Pratt Hunt
Operations Manager
Karen came to the Firm with a dozen years of experience in investment management operations. She supports clients and TFA advisors with trade execution, cash management, compliance and process improvement. She acts as an interface with our principal custodian, Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services (“FIWS”), as well as other delivering organizations to assure seamless account maintenance and accurate transactions. Her mission is to prevent errors and to minimize administrative burdens placed on our clients. Karen plays a key role in the preparation of investment performance reports. She works closely with our Chief Compliance Officer to assure conformity with Federal, state and local regulations as well as Firm policies and procedures.
Elizabeth S. Lombardi
Office Manager
Betsy is well equipped to handle the day-to-day managerial responsibilities of a professional services firm. She joined Trumbower Financial Advisors after seventeen years of experience as an administrator for a Washington, DC law firm. She maintains all of our office systems, data processing resources, facilities, supplies and equipment. Betsy is a well-rounded business manager. She handles client billing, accounts receivable and payable, human resources and payroll for the Firm. Betsy manages banking relationships and represents the Firm in a wide variety of business negotiations with vendors. Her financial management services are also available to select clients with special needs.
Michael J. Greenwalt
Financial Planning Associate
Michael joined the Firm as a full time financial planning associate after interning with us while earning his undergraduate degree. He graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Arts in English, Language and Literature. Michael has proven his ability to master any challenge and has several years of on-the-job training in tax, financial planning and investment management to complement his outstanding communication skills. His attention to detail and growing technical knowledge base are evident in the quality of the tax compliance, record keeping and administrative support services he delivers to our clients. Michael designed and implemented a system to convert many years of paper archives into easily accessible electronic files and he manages the content of our web site. His organizational abilities have helped us enhance the efficiency of our operations in many different ways.
Before he joined the Firm, Michael spent four years working in retail management and visual merchandising for two large corporations. His natural focus on superlative client service and his design instincts were cultivated by this experience.
Kim Davis
Associate Office Manager
Kim joined the Firm with many years of experience supporting engineers, designers and attorneys. She also provided bookkeeping services to small businesses and is well suited for her position with our Firm where she is responsible for maintaining a variety of financial record keeping systems. She has undertaken the monumental task of scanning and cataloguing our paper archives while identifying and storing important documents so that they are readily accessible. We are grateful for Kim’s varied background, attention to detail and intelligence. She has mastered many of our data processing systems and is able to provide competent back-up support. Kim handles a wide range of tasks that keep our office well organized and help assure prompt, accurate delivery of our work products to clients.
